Next week for reading we will be participating in “Camp Week”. Students are asked to bring in a blanket in a plastic bag and a flash light (please no pillows). Students will be reading, writing in “camp” journals, and doing camp themed reading activities. We will be reviewing skills such as letter writing, journaling, parts of speech, parts of a story, etc. This is a celebration of all of their hard work this year!

Field Trip to Skate Zone 71 – Yes! It is Eduational!
Dear Parents:
We have planned a very fun and educational field trip to Skate Zone 71. This is our second year going in third grade. We will be learning about friction, simple machines, forces, and weight. This helps meet many State Science Standards. Students will take part in a hands on lesson using skates, simple machines, and spring scales to investigate motion and friction, then they will be given time to skate.
When: May 30th
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Cost: $ 7.00 per student.
This price includes admission, lesson materials, skate rental, pizza, chips, and a drink.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let Mrs. Fischer or Mrs. Melrose know. We understand that this is on top of the money for field day, but both will be awesome opportunities, please let us know if there are any problems.
o Students need to be ON TIME on this day. We will be leaving around 9:30, our presentation begins at 10:00
o Students who show unacceptable behavior or have too many points accrued will not be allowed to go on this field trip.
